Family-focused birthing suites
Sentara is the only health system in the region to offer LDRP private birthing suites - where mothers stay in the same birthing suite for labor, delivery, recovery and post-partum. Each birthing suite features a private bathroom with walk-in shower, mini-fridge, Amazon Echo device for personalized music, and a modern sleeper sofa that provides a restful retreat for your partner or support person. Our team also practices a family-centered approach to care - our Maternity Center Director is a Certified Nurse Midwife who has been caring for women and families for more than 30 years.
